Light at the end of the tunnel...

Hopefully, we will be getting the Internet at home this week. I am ready to enjoy the net from the comfort of my own home. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful to all my friends that have so generously offered me the use of their home computers or laptops. I just am ready to be a little more independent;)

Anyway, I am glad to see that I do have people still checkin the blog even though I haven't really posted anything of substance in a while. Thanks to my little hits tracker, I always get a laugh at the random places that tend to view my little blog. Obviously, with the majority of my family in CA, I always get a ton of hits from the west coast. However, I have had quite a few from back east...i.e NY( hopefully, this is my fabulous cousin Arlene...'cept it seems to be from several different places there, so who knows) & and North Carolina...I don't know anyone from there, so that is always interesting. Plus, I always enjoy visits from my friends from Vegas, AZ, & Hawaii (Aloha, Marta! Hopefully I'll get to come visit you soon). I also apparently have a pretty devoted following from Denver, New Jersey, & Sandy, UT...which, again, is interesting since I don't have good friends that I know of in any of those places:) I suppose we'll chalk those ones up as blog stalkers:) It's all good.

Well, again, I apologize for my lack of entertaining anecdotes & pics over the past few weeks, but hopefully that will change soon. Thanks for sticking with me. Check back soon!

Recent things that made me smile....

So my boys are always entertaining me with things they do & say. Here are some of the most recent...

** Dyl & I have been watching the tv show "Lost" (yes, it is EXTREMELY age-appropriate...um...okay....maybe not so much...). Anyway, my youngest & I have been spending quality time together (how's that for a positive- spin) & we like to talk about the different characters. One day he tells me how weird it was that one of the guys saw his dead father walking in the jungle. "It's probably cuz he was drinking beer , Mom"...you think?..."Yeah. Cuz when you drink beer you can see REALLY good."...hmmm, really?..."Oh yeah, cuz whenever Dad drinks beer his eyes work REEEEAAAALLLY good. Like seriously, Mom, he sees soooo good."....interesting, I did not know that:)


** Aidan says funny things, but a lot of times it's more what he does that makes me smile. So, the boys are well into their baseball season. Aidan is playing machine pitch. He is doing very well & loving this past time more & more with each game. I also love that he has become aware of the little chant...Hey batter, batter, batter...SWWWWWIIIINNNGGG!!! The funniest part is he doesn't say it 'til the coach drops the ball in the machine. He watches very closely & waits for the exact moment it's released & than he scrambles to spit out the whole thing before the ball makes it to the plate. The best part is he does it every single time & he is the ONLY one of the field doing it:) I had to laugh 'cause at one point the coach looked over at him & couldn't contain a smile as Aidan sat with his smile waiting for him to drop the ball. I'm sooo excited to watch my boys growing up playing this game.

** Finally, this one made this little momma very proud. The other morning I was taking the kids to swim, there was a mom & a little girl about 2 yrs old standing by the gate. When I pulled up to the curb Dyl announced, "Hey! There's the little girl Aidan saved from drowning!"...What?... Oh yeah! Yesterday, at the pool (and if you have ever been to the PG pool in the day you know just how chaotic it is) that little girl fell in the deep-end & Aidan jumped in & saved her."...What!?!..."Oh yeah, Mom. It's not the first time either. He also saved Hailey (a girl from daycare) too. He's like a Hero, Mom."...Really, Aidan?...my shy son just looked at me with a little smile, shrugged his shoulders, gave me this look of "just all in a days work for a hero, Mom"...and then walked off to swim practice. Dyl just watched him & then repeated..."yep, he's a hero, Mom." I'm still smiling:)

Life goes on...

Long time, no blog! I have been without my computer/internet since our move, which has proven to make updating my blog near impossible (obviously not completely impossible because here I am). We are slowly settling in (I mean SLOOOOOWLY...too many boxes makes one crazy, by the way). Anyway, the boys are loving having so many kids to play with & I deeply appreciate how welcoming everyone has been.

Dyl just had his 6th birthday. I can not believe my baby is 6!!! He is living in LEGO dreamland right now since pretty much every present he received was a set of LEGOS...trust me, there is not a more perfect gift for him right now. Honestly, he never ceases to amaze me at how he is able to not only build these intricate toys, but also the extreme amount of patience that it requires. He likes me to sit with him while he does it, but I can tell it takes everything in him to not pull the toys away from me as he watches me struggle like a giant oaf to keep from breaking the whole thing while popping one tiny piece into place...okay, so I am not really that clumsy, but I love to see the boys faces when they think that they are much better than me at something. :)

Aidan is preparing to run the Strawberry Days 5k with me this yr. He keeps vacilating every time he thinks about the length of the race..."IT'S LIKE 3 MILES, MOM!!!"...yeah, not like, honey child, it is & more:) I keep letting him know that I know he can do it. I told him we don't need to run the whole time & that I will stay with him the whole way. I can see in his eyes that he wants to do it, but he's scared. Rightfully so, I didn't run my 1st 5k 'til I was 30. So if he decides to not do it, no big whoop. I'll keep you all posted.

Alright, other than that, Aidan's gearing up for his first Swim meet. We are trying to plan a trip to California, & we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of their new baby brother (Ben & Donnie are due any day now). Honestly, I've never seen the boys more excited. It makes me very happy for them.

I know I have more things to post about, but my time is limited. I just wanted to check in & let everyone know we were still truckin'.
