Thank you, Easter Bunny!!!

Here's a little bit of what we did last weekend...

First of all, it was General Conference. We won't mention the fact that I was totally on the ball this year, got all of our Easter outfits early (meaning I wasn't scrambling the night before to try & find something for us to wear that semi-matched), and then realized we don't even go to church on Easter this year...nice. It's all good. The silver lining: we didn't have to go to church! Oh wait...I'm not suppose to say that. Ok, so I like being able to flip on the tv and enjoy "church" in my sweats. I said it. There. Shoot me!

Anyway, a little tradition we have is to do a ton of puzzles & play games during the sessions. However, before all that fun began, we decided to give the annual P.G. Egg Hunt one more try this year. Typically, total chaos ensues & the boys end up with maybe a half-broken egg and some grass. What can I say? Kids are not afraid to push each other over for a plastic egg filled with some hard-as-a-rock tootsie roll or some other less than edible candy. Anyway, we thought our odds were a little better since it started at the same time the first session of General Conference did...and that logic paid off. Score! I will say there were a "different" group of people there this year...I'll leave it at that.

While the Easter Bunny was no where to be found, a Wolverine showed up...um...yeah...not sure what that was about...Aidan's face was classic.

Dylan (as per usual)was adamant that he was NOT afraid of the wolverine; yet, he was very defensive and stuck right next to my side as he insisted on NOT having his picture taken with the Easter Wolverine:)

Our egg goals this year:
Aidan wanted more than 4
Dylan was hoping for at least 4!

Mission accomplished! Aidan actually had a lot more, but some kid finally told him that all of his eggs were falling out of his bag. Silver lining: he got 6! He was a really good sport about it.

The best part--no crappy candy. Apparently, the city of Pleasant Grove felt nothing said Easter like Arctic Circle Ice Cream & Hamburgers or Sonic's Extra-Long Chili Cheese Coney dogs (in the form of coupons of course). Needless to say, we had a ton of fun. Now, home again, home again, jiggity-jig...

We pretty much played around home & ate all weekend. I cooked & baked quite a bit. So thumbs down on all of the dishes; but thumbs up on all the yummy food and fruit:)

I also decided I was going to be a mean mom this year & said I wasn't going to do Easter baskets since the boys were SOOO old. They both already knew that I was the one that really brought everything. Dylan was soooo mad at me. He said it didn't matter that he knew and kept insisting it was not fair since he was only 7. Aidan gave a more feeble defense of the fact that he was only 10, but was hoping to ride on Dylan's coat tails. Again, I mentioned I was being mean, right? LIKE I WOULD MISS AN OPPORTUNITY TO CELEBRATE A HOLIDAY!!! BUT, I let the boys go to bed mad at me thinking there would be nothing in the morning...evil, I know...

Boy! Were they happy to see the treats! Dylan was as excited as Christmas morning.

AND this time he didn't get ticked off at me for making him put all the toys down so I could whisk him away to California. Although, I sure as heck would have liked to be there...did I mention it snowed! Nothing like dreaming of a white Easter...ridiculous...moving on....

The best part: silly string!

I decided to go crazy & we had an insane silly string fight. We were laughing our heads off.

The neighbors even got in on it since they heard us screaming and running around covered head-to-toe in colorful foam (the stuff is actually extremely easy to clean up...which is good 'cause it was EVERYWHERE!!!!).
...and...yes, I really do wake up looking this good in the morning;)

All in all,we had a great weekend and made tons of fun memories:)
